A Personal Tribute to Lachie Reid
I created this tribute page in honour of my friend and colleague, Lachie Reid. Lachie wasn’t just someone I worked with at Newmont—he was a mentor, a teammate, and one of the brightest, kindest people I’ve ever had the privilege to know. As I once wrote, “Lachie bought light‑hearted humour always to the table, he was ready to listen and always thought of others before himself.”
Lachie had a way of bringing out the best in people. He taught me new skills, pushed me to back myself, and cheered me on even when I doubted my own abilities. Some of my favourite memories in my career were made working alongside him, learning from him, and laughing with him.
Lachie faced his illness with the same quiet strength and generosity that defined his life. Creating this page is my way of honouring the impact he had on me and so many others, and of supporting the vital work Pankind does in the hope that future families may be spared this heartbreak.
This is for Lachie—his brilliance, his humour, his compassion, and the legacy he leaves behind in all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
