In Loving Memory Of
Trish McMillan
To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die
Please make a donation in memory of someone very special.
This tribute page has been created in honour of someone truly special, the late Trish McMillan.
In early 2024, Trish was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and after battling for almost 12 months, tragically passed away in December 2024, leaving her family and friends devastated.
Trish started playing hockey at 10 years of age and played for 62 years. From 2015 to 2024 she played in Maitland and Newcastle. In the Maitland Hockey Women's Competition Trish was a proud member of the Scorchers team, playing alongside her daughter and granddaughter. Trish was a skillful player that often made critical defensive plays for her team. Her passion, effort and sportsmanship every week embodies the culture Maitland Hockey strives to build.
Outside of Maitland Hockey, Trish represented ACT and Australia in Masters hockey, along with Scorchers teammates Kate and Joan. Trish played for Australia 7 times and won the over 60s World Cup in The Hague in 2014 defeating England.
Maitland Hockey has lost not only an outstanding player but a cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. The Trish McMillan Memorial Round is a chance to honour her legacy, raise funds in her name, and celebrate a woman who was a true cornerstone of hockey in Maitland, Newcastle, the ACT, and across Australia.
We will miss you always Trish.
