Honouring Trish McMillan – A Legacy of Strength, Spirit and Sportsmanship
This tribute page has been created in loving memory of Trish McMillan – an extraordinary woman, talented athlete, and beloved friend. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early 2024, Trish faced her illness with courage and determination. She passed away in December 2024, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her.
Trish's hockey journey began at the age of 10 and spanned over six remarkable decades. She was a proud and passionate player in the Maitland and Newcastle competitions, notably representing the Scorchers alongside her daughter and granddaughter. Her skill, leadership, and unwavering sportsmanship exemplified everything Maitland Hockey stands for.
Beyond local fields, Trish achieved national and international success, representing the ACT and Australia in Masters hockey. A seven-time Australian representative and World Cup champion in 2014, her legacy is woven into the very fabric of the sport.
The Trish McMillan Memorial Round is our way of celebrating her incredible life, while raising vital funds for Pankind—Australia’s pancreatic cancer foundation. Your donation honours Trish’s memory and supports research, care, and hope for others affected by this devastating disease.
We miss you dearly, Trish. Your legacy lives on—in every game, every goal, and every life touched by your courage.
