Stories to inspire you

Chop's Big Purple Lap

In memory of his friend Wayne, Jason 'Chop' and his mate Paul took on The Big Purple Lap, riding more than 13,800 kilometres around Australia on his Harley-Davidson. Their incredible effort raised over $31,000 for pancreatic cancer research, proving that no challenge compares to the fight faced by those living with the disease.

Kirri's Great Purple Drive

After losing her beloved husband Andrew to pancreatic cancer, Kirri and her friend Mardi embraced Andrew's love of adventure and drove 3,576 kilometres across Australia in an open-top buggy for The Great Purple Drive. They stopped in rural and regional communities along the way to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.

breakaway horse riders

Breakaway horse riders

The Breakaway Horse Ride has been bringing the Mackay community together for 24 years. In 2025, a record 175 riders, from toddlers to lifelong horse lovers, saddled up in a sea of purple, raising more than $24,000 for Pankind. Greg Barr shared his story and the ride became a powerful reminder that awareness, community and action can help change the future for families affected by pancreatic cancer.
