This page has been created to raise money for treatments to improve outcomes for people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Dad was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in July 2023, and passed away in June this year at the age of 59. Dad was surrounded by a team of brilliant doctors and nurses. But despite receiving the best care possible, it wasn’t enough to beat the odds- The five year survival rate of Pancreatic cancer is 3%.
Dad was determined to beat his prognosis of 18 months. He endured round after round of three different chemotherapy protocols, and later joined a clinical trial.
He participated in the clinical trial not only for the chance to extend his life, but to help propel research forwards. He said if there was a chance it might help other people with pancreatic cancer, it was worth the difficult side effects.
Dad was inspired by his sister Denise, who passed away from Leukaemia when she was 28. Since her death, a cure has been found for the type of cancer she suffered from, and it is our hope that the same will be true for Dad.
Please help us to reach our goal. We believe a breakthrough is possible, and earlier detection methods can be found, but research needs to be funded. 💙
Thank you to everyone who supported Dad and our family on his journey with cancer. He humbly received an outpouring of love from his friends and family in his final years, and we are so thankful to you all for it.
